A Club membership brochure to help support Club operation and lighthouse maintenance has just been completed and was distributed during the ground breaking ceremonies for the Boston Light on April 16. The IronMan Golf Tournament was the only fund raiser the lighthouse club has had since incorporation as a Club, aside from individual sponsorships of the lighthouse replica's. However, this Tournament also sponsors other youth organizations as well and over the years it has not grown into the program we had hoped for. As a result, the net proceeds have been spread very thin and this year without any proceeds going to the Lighhouse Club, so it was incumbent that we identify other income sources for our Club. Hopefully this new brochure will be widely excepted as the more lights we put in place the higher the cost of the maintenance and upkeep. Remember if anyone needs a "Tax Credit" the Lighthouse Club is a 501 (c) 3 organization. How the program works:
Each group choosing to participate is assigned a 5-digit group identification number. Then Bashas' customers link the group ID number to their Thank You Card and a portion of every Thank You Card purchase is donated to that group. Bashas' will donate one percent of the total sales linked to each group's ID number, up to a $2,500 donation. Active charities must earn a minimum of $2,500 in total sales to earn the 1% donation.

How do I start shopping for a group?

Once you have a 5-digit number for a group (Ours is 24276 ) that you would like to shop for, take it with you to Bashas' the next time you shop beginning September 1, 2006. You can have it written down on a piece of paper, in a newsletter, etc. The cashier will punch it in and it will be printed on your receipt to confirm you have signed up. Every time you shop at Bashas' a portion of your total sales will be donated to the group linked to your Thank You Card.

Thanks A Million

The Bashas' fundraising program, Thanks A Million For Friends and Neighbors, will run from September 1, 2006 - March 31, 2007. Schools, churches and non-profit groups can sign up and benefit by encouraging their friends and neighbors to link a school, church or non-profit group to the Bashas' Thank You Card.
